grand canyon action

since we've moved to st. george, we've decided we need to take advantage of living near some of the natural wonders of the world! the vegas strip (not natural, but quite a wonder) was one of our first escapades, but i won't post about that. it got pretty wild and River would be embarrassed if i were to publicly document all of his parents' gambling shenanigans. what happens in vegas stays.....kiddinnnnngggg. anyway, we visited the grand canyon for the day today (we happen to live only 2 to 2.5 hours away. hello!), and boy was it grand, indeed! i was completely amazed by the immensity of the place. being there doesn't even seem real. it feels as though you are gazing into an enormous painting. logan has hiked the canyon from the north to the south rim- i hope to do it someday, too. someday....maybe then it will feel a bit more real.

the whole drive was gorgeous! we stopped to feed River and rest for a minute and just happened to do so in a beautiful little grove of trees.

River and dad

grand canyon!! wahoo!!

getting tickled. :)

Rivs was a very good sport sitting in that carseat the whole time.

we made it!

the north rim! this side of the canyon is extremely beautiful and green with windy roads and lots of fun wildlife (we saw a coyote and a family of deer on the way). apparently the south rim is much more flat and dry and just plain desert. glad we live on the north side!

just us. check out the view! (i love River's face in this one.)

Riv's and mom havin a good time.

whoa, are you kiddin me right now?

we bundled rivs up when we got there. it was chilly and he had bare feet!

checkin things out.

"duuuude. please don't drop me, k?."

logan being cool.

we had such a great time! i highly recommend it.
